Serving the Lake County community since 1999.
Because Lake County did not have a comprehensive care clinic for the un- and underinsured, MCHC opened Lakeside Health Center in 1999. Lakeside patients are offered primary care, oral health and counseling services, as well case management and support for chronic illness.
A key issue challenging our Lake County patients is transportation. The county's huge area and inadequate public transportation system undermines patient access. To address this need, we asked Delta Dental for the generous donation of a van, which is now used to assist patients who require transportation support. We are also working with a consortium of Lake County agencies to develop a workable plan that will give Lakeside patients a bus stop right on our property.
To meet the growing need for medical services in Lake County, MCHC has completed initial planning for a major facility expansion that will add dental operatories and medical exam rooms, move and expand counseling offices and redesign Lakeside reception for single-point entry. Completion of the project is planned to be late-2005.
