MCHC Group Insurance Benefits
MCHC provides eligible employees the opportunity to participate in a Group Insurance Program.
The following Group Insurance Plans to eligible employees:
- Medical
- Dental
- Vision
- Life
- Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
- Dependent Life
- Short Term Disability Insurance (STD)
- Long Term Disability Insurance (LTD)
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Eligibility and Premium Payments
Regular Full-Time (RFT) employees are eligible to participate in all of the Group Insurance Plans listed above. Employees who wish to participate in the medical, dental and vision group insurance plans must pay a portion of the premium.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Because MCHC recognizes that personal problems can affect an employee's attendance, job performance or behavior at work, it provides EAP access. The EAP plan offers confidential and professional counseling and, when appropriate, referral to other services to deal with personal problems, such as chemical dependency, marital or family conflict, emotional upsets or financial problems.
Retirement
MCHC understands the importance of planning for your retirement. To assist employees prepare for a financially satisfying and secure retirement, MCHC sponsors the Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan (Plan). The Plan features a tax deferred savings plan 401(k). You may also be eligible to receive discretionary contributions from MCHC.
Paid-Time-Off
MCHC requests all employees to take time off for rest, vaction or to recuperate from illness. To allow and encourage employees to be able to take these needed days off, a combined vacation/sick paid-time-off allocation is provided.
Holidays
If an MCHC holiday falls during an eligible employee's vacation period payment for the observed
holiday will be treated as holiday pay instead of paid-time-off.
MCHC grants the following holidays as paid holidays to qualified employees:
- New Year's Day: January 1st
- Memorial Day: Last Monday in May
- Independence Day: July 4th
- Labor Day: 1st Monday in September
- Thanksgiving Day: 4th Thursday in November
- The day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day: December 25th
Employees so work at least thirty (30) hours per week are eligibility for holiday pay.
Continued Education
MCHC recognizes that increased knowledge is an asset to our employees and to the organization. For this reason, MCHC assists regular, full-time employees in maintaining their professional licensure.
Tuition Reimbursement Program
MCHC recognizes that increased knowledge and professional credentials is an asset to our employees and our organization. Therefore, MCHC helps regular, full-time employees finance their education in a qualified degree, professional licensing or certificate program. This policy does not imply any assurance of promotion, transfer or any other reward as a result of continued studies. All course work and/or degree programs must be applicable to the business needs of MCHC.
The intention of this benefit is to encourage MCHC employees to achieve their
professional development goals by obtaining higher credentials, licenses, certificates and skills that will enhance their ability to contribute to MCHC.
Employees who wish to participate in the program must have been employed by MCHC for a minimum of one (1) year; they must maintain satisfactory job performance and exhibit exceptional corporate citizenship.
