Miranda Mackey, CNM, is welcomed by MCHC

UKIAH - Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. (MCHC) announces the addition of Miranda Marie Mackey, Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), to its women’s health practice at Care for Her. She will be consulting with patients at Hillside Health Center in Ukiah and at Little Lake Health Center in Willits. She will be assisting her patients during childbirth at Ukiah Valley Medical Center.

In 1996, Ms. Mackey received her Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio. Also in 1996, she received her Nurse-Midwife certification from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Hyden, Kentucky and her BSN from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 1990.
Care for Her provides comprehensive, whole-life health services in a by-women, for-women environment of care.

Care for Her is staffed by Tanya Kalmar, OB/GYN, as well as by CNMs such as Ms. Mackey. Certified Nurse-Midwives not only hold advanced nursing degrees, but they must also achieve certification through the American College of Nurse-Midwives, licensure by the State of California and credentialing through Ukiah Valley Medical Center. A Certified Nurse-Midwife is qualified to provide obstetrical and gynecologic care to women throughout their lives.

Ms. Mackey raised her five children in Arizona, where she was born and has lived for the last eight years while practicing midwifery. She enjoys outdoor activities and traveling. Medical mission work has taken her to Peru, Honduras and Latvia.
