Oct. 9 is 2nd annual La Buena Vida
UKIAH - La Buena Vida (The Good Life) Health Fair will be held on Sunday, October 9, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Hillside Health Center, located at 333 Laws Avenue.Proving that good health is more fun, the fair offers a broad array of health activities, along with information and screenings, in Spanish. Some of this year’s highlights include a special focus on diabetes education. An "Ask the Doctor" booth will give attendees to ask any health question which interests or concerns them.
La Buena Vida is co-sponsored by Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. (MCHC) and Nuestra Casa Family Resource Center. Many community service agencies will be present to educate and interest visitors about crucial health issues challenging families.
La Buena Vida emphasizes participatory learning encounters, so those who come to the fair can expect to have a good time as they explore different aspects of their health. There will be about 30 stations at the fair. Those who have 20 stations validated on their "health treasure map" can enter to win a prize. This year’s grand prize is a DVD player.
