Two Lake County women recognized for providing “Helping Hand” to children
LAKEPORT - Joan Reynolds, the Director of Healthy Start, and Marta Fuller, RN, of Lake County Public Health Services, are being recognized for their outstanding contribution to the oral health of the children of Lake County. On November 4th, at a luncheon hosted by Lakeside Health Center, they will receive the Helping Hand Award.
For the past six years, Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Fuller have worked together to identify children who are “falling through the cracks” and not receiving the dental care they need to be healthy. They have recruited local providers to help meet those needs. From the viewpoint of the clinical staff at Lakeside Health Center, Ms. Reynolds and Ms. Fuller have “accomplished the impossible,” vigorously advocating for children and finding creative approaches to obtaining the dental care services they need.
The Helping Hand Award is an honor given annually by Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. (MCHC). MCHC is the regional independent nonprofit that operates Lakeside Health Center. The annual award was instituted to recognize MCHC community partners who make a significant contribution to the health of its community of patients. ###
