Lakeside physician achieves Board certification
LAKEPORT – Lakeside Health Center announces that one of its full-time staff physicians, Dr. Bruce Barnett, was recently awarded certification by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM certification is provided upon successful completion of a written examination that tests knowledge and problem-solving abilities in the fields of adult medicine, newborn, infant, child and adolescent care, maternity and gynecological care, community medicine, care of the older patient, human behavior, mental health and care for the surgical patient.
Dr. Barnett is a graduate of Harvard Medical School. He completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He joined Lakeside Health Center clinical staff in July, 2006.
Lakeside Health Center is operated by the local, nonprofit Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. (MCHC). MCHC’s mission is to provide quality health services to the most vulnerable in our community. The MCHC Board of Directors recognizes board certification as one of the many indicators of high quality medical care. All health care providers at MCHC are strongly encouraged to maintain current applicable certifications from respective specialty organizations. MCHC has congratulates Dr. Barnett for his contribution to the quality of healthcare in the greater Lakeport community.
