UKIAH - On February 11 from 5 - 7 pm, in the Nokomis Elementary School cafeteria, Nokomis students have been invited to participate in an activity-filled learning adventure along with their families. The event is called "Eating Up Nutrition."

Nokomis kids will get to taste test healthy soups and vegetables, engage in a tea-bag art project, read, play games and participate in other interactive activities around the theme of nutrition. The goal of the evening is to extend the work done by the schools in a fun filled event that enhances whole-family learning about foods and nutrition. Activities and learning materials will be presented in a bilingual format.

Led by Nokomis Principal John McCann, a coalition of community groups is coming together to make this event fun and productive. Partners include Nuestra Casa, Hillside Health Center, FIRST 5 Mendocino, School Readiness Program and Healthy Kids Mendocino.
