A new reception area, an improved patient experience
Our year-long remodeling of Hillside Health Center's reception was completed in November 2007.
It has had a very positive impact on our patients. The lively enhancements to the reception environment offer more comfort
and spaciousness, increased patient capacity, a greater sense of privacy during the check-in experience
and an improved work environment for reception staff. These much needed improvements were made with the support of
the California Health Facilities Financing Authority through the Anthem/WellPoint insurance merger,
the Tides Foundation and Pierre Horn Custom Builders.
Obstetrics expanding to meet growing need
In 2007, over 270 infants were born with the assistance of MCHC's clinical obstetrics staff.
Current volume for Care for Her is exceeding 30 births per month.
Beginning in August 2008, MCHC will begin the next phase of expansion to our Care for Her obstetrics program.
Phase I:
Construction will begin on five exam rooms and an OB/GYN-dedicated lab area in August 2008.
Phase II:
Construction of the new and expanded Care for Her reception area will begin in March 2009, assuming our construction schedule is on target.
Phase III:
Interior remodeling of provider offices, the expanded patient education rooms and
the ultrasound treatment room is estimated for an August 2009 completion date.
Fundraising for the expansion of Care for Her is on-going. We wish to express our gratitude to the generous supporters who have already contributed:
- The Tides Foundation
- The California Wellness Foundation
- Blue Shield Foundation
- Members of our local community
- MCHC Board of Directors and staff
