25 Years of HIV Care
Wednesday, August 19 marked an historic milestone: the 25th anniversary of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act. Their motto? Moving Forward with CARE: Building on 25 Years of Passion, Purpose, and Excellence.
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) plays a critical role in the United States’ public health response to HIV and is the largest Federal program exclusively providing services to people living with the disease.
MCHC Health Centers has been a powerful force in treating HIV and AIDS in Lake and Mendocino Counties for more than twenty years, and is the only local health organization providing ongoing comprehensive HIV care. Since its inception, our HIV program has more than tripled the number of patients regularly cared for; 240 patients received treatment for HIV in 2014.
Our entire staff is dedicated to providing access to the most current, high-quality HIV/AIDS care in a compassionate environment, a place where everyone can feel welcome and respected. Patients can receive HIV care at all three MCHC health centers: Hillside Health Center in Ukiah, Little Lake Health Center in Willits, and Lakeview Health Center in Lakeport, as well as Mendocino Coast Clinic in Fort Bragg.
Join us as we pause to celebrate what we have achieved as an organization in the fight against HIV, and get excited about where we are headed!
