We had a busy weekend. We were out in the community enjoying the beautiful weather, raising money for good causes, sharing information about health care, and honoring a beloved doctor by naming a building after him. Phew!
In Lakeport, Lakeview Health Center staff and our HealthCorps members participated in the Latinos United Coalition of Lake County's Cinco de Mayo celebration. The event included social services and health agencies providing information on disease prevention, local family and children's services, and an array of healthy foods and beverages for attendees.
In Ukiah, our Care for Her staff and HealthCorps members participated in the Human Race Event to raise money and awareness for local non-profit agencies. Later that day, we honored Dr. Bill Fisher for his tremendous contribution to our organization, and to the health of our community during his decades in practice as a thoracic surgeon.
